Blue Screen

Blue Screen is a Brussels based screening program focusing on film and video works by visual artists. The program is curated by Emma van der Put, Alasdair Asmussen Doyle and Chloé Malcotti and takes place at the collaborative artist studio’s Level Five.

With each Blue Screen program, we delve into the practice of a specific visual artist working with film or video. In response to the practice of the invited artist we curate a program of short films by other filmmakers.

The invited artist then proposes the next ‘artist in focus’ for the following edition. In this way, the selection of featured artists unfolds as a continuous chain of artistic dialogue—opening up discursive and speculative pathways across film, video, and visual art.

Blue Screen is produced by Level Five and hypernuit, with the support of FW-B (Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles) and VAF (Vlaams Audiovisueel Fonds).
