Blue Screen # 10: Five Year Anniversary
We are delighted to invite you to join us in celebrating the 10th edition of Blue Screen and its 5 year anniversary, on Wednesday the 31st of January.
We started our Blue Screen program in 2019 in the first Level Five building located in the centre of Brussels with the desire to highlight practices of visual artists/plasticians who are working with moving image, to focus on their artistic practices, their ways of working and thinking about this particular medium. With Blue Screen we wanted to create a platform for public exchange, where within a wide field of interest, knowledge around these specific practices could be shared.
Every Blue Screen we ask the artist in focus of the evening to propose a next guest for the upcoming edition. For our 10th screening program, we wanted to take the opportunity to look back at the chain of affinity and complicity that has developed among the various Blue Screen artists since the inception of this concept.
Each of the artists in focus of the past Blue Screen editions will present one short film, and we’ll watch them in chronological order. The evening will consist of works by: Graham Kelly, Toon Fibbe, Anouchka Oler, Katja Mater, Fairuz Ghammam, Adina Ionescu-Muscel, Stéphanie Roland, Caroline Corbason and Eponine Momenceau.
We’d like to extend our warmest thanks to each and every artist we’ve met through Blue Screen in the past five years. We’ve learnt a lot by collaborating and discovering each of your unique practices.
Blue Screen is produced by Level Five and hypernuit
With support of Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles (FW-B) and VAF (Vlaams Audiovisueel Fonds)
Thanks to our Level Five neighbour SMOG, for hosting us this season!
