Blue Screen
Blue Screen is a Brussels based bimonthly screening program focusing on film and video works by visual artists. The program is curated by Emma van der Put, Alasdair Asmussen Doyle and Chloé Malcotti and takes place at the collaborative artist studio’s Level Five.
With each Blue Screen program, we delve into the practice of a specific visual artist working with film or video. In conversation with the invited artist, Chloé Malcotti, Alasdair Asmussen Doyle, and Emma van der Put respond to their work through a selection of short films by other filmmakers. The invited artist then proposes the next ‘artist in focus’. In this way, the selection of featured artists unfolds as a continuous chain of artistic dialogue—opening up discursive and speculative pathways across film, video, and visual art.
Blue Screen is produced by Level Five and hypernuit, with the support of FW-B (Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles) and VAF (Vlaams Audiovisueel Fonds).
